Terms of Use
Last updated: 26 April 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Viktar Pikulik, an individual developer based in Poland ("we", "us"), regarding your use of the LOCKY mobile application for iPhone and Apple Watch and the website at locky.anysite.website (together, the "Service"). By installing or using LOCKY you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service.

1. What LOCKY is
LOCKY is a behavioural anti-theft tool for iPhone and Apple Watch. When armed, it triggers a loud siren, vibration and torch flash if it detects that the phone has been moved beyond a configured GPS radius (Distance Guard) or lifted off a flat surface (Active Guard). It also offers anti-loss alerts between iPhone and Apple Watch.
2. Important limits you must understand
LOCKY is not a security system. It is a deterrent that depends entirely on the iPhone and watchOS platforms. By using LOCKY you accept the following:
- iOS may suspend or terminate the app in the background to free up memory or save battery. If LOCKY is not running, the alarm will not fire.
- Apple does not allow ordinary apps to fully bypass silent mode. LOCKY plays the siren as loud as the operating system allows; results on a silenced phone are not guaranteed.
- If the iPhone is switched off, runs out of battery, is destroyed, is placed in a Faraday cage or otherwise loses GPS signal, LOCKY cannot detect or report anything.
- GPS accuracy varies. Indoors, in metro tunnels or in dense urban areas, location may be imprecise and Distance Guard may behave unpredictably. We recommend a safety margin in the radius setting.
- Active Guard relies on motion-sensor heuristics, not on machine vision. It can produce false positives (a colleague nudging the table) or, less often, false negatives.
- Anti-loss alerts depend on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity between iPhone and Apple Watch. Tunnels, lifts, congested wireless environments and watchOS background scheduling can cause occasional missed or delayed alerts.
- You are responsible for setting a strong PIN, configuring sensible thresholds and testing the alarm yourself.
3. Licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install LOCKY on Apple devices that you own or control, and to use the Service for your own non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and to Apple's standard licensed-application end-user agreement.
4. No account, your responsibility
LOCKY does not require you to create an account. All settings, the PIN code and the event log are stored locally on your device. Keeping that device secure (passcode, biometrics, iOS updates) is your responsibility. If you lose access to the device, we cannot recover the PIN or the data inside the app.
5. LOCKY Pro subscriptions
The Service includes both a free tier and an optional auto-renewing subscription called "LOCKY Pro". The free tier includes Distance Guard, one Safe Place, the standard siren, vibration, torch flash and PIN protection. LOCKY Pro additionally unlocks Active Guard, anti-loss alerts for Apple Watch, unlimited Safe Places, all alarm sounds, motion-sensitivity tuning, event history and other premium features described in the App Store listing.
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. The duration of each plan and the price applicable to your region are shown inside the app and on the App Store at the time of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each period for the same duration unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
You can review or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your iPhone.
6. Free trial
New users receive a free trial of LOCKY Pro for 7 days starting from the first launch of the app. The trial does not require entering payment details. When the trial ends, the app reverts to the free tier. You can subscribe to LOCKY Pro at any time before, during or after the trial.
7. Cancellation, refunds and right of withdrawal
You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access to LOCKY Pro until then. We do not pro-rate refunds for unused parts of a paid period.
Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store refund policy. Requests can be filed at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a statutory right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU. By starting a subscription you expressly request immediate access to digital content and acknowledge that, once the subscription is activated and used, the right of withdrawal is lost in accordance with Article 16(m) of that Directive.
8. Price changes
We may change subscription prices for future billing periods. Existing subscribers will be notified by Apple, in line with Apple's published rules, before any price increase takes effect. If you do not accept the new price, you can cancel your subscription before it renews.
9. Intellectual property
LOCKY, the LOCKY name, the visual design of the app and this website, the source code and all related materials are owned by Viktar Pikulik and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, repackage or commercially redistribute the app, except where applicable law explicitly grants you that right.
10. What you must not do
- Use LOCKY in a way that violates applicable law (for example, to harass, alarm or distress others through deliberate false alarms in public spaces).
- Bypass or attempt to disable the PIN, the subscription enforcement or any other technical protection.
- Use LOCKY on devices you do not own or do not have permission to install software on.
- Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service without our explicit written consent.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, prevent any specific theft, loss or damage, or work in every operating system or hardware configuration. Statutory rights that consumers have under EU law are not limited by this section.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for LOCKY in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the liability, or, if no payment was made, to fifty euros (€50). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, devices or property resulting from theft, loss, damage or misuse of any device — whether or not LOCKY was running.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of Poland or the European Union.
13. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may modify, add or remove features of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms when the Service changes, when the law requires or to correct mistakes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice or App Store release notes. By continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the new Terms.
14. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that endangers other users or the platform. Sections that by their nature survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law — survive termination of these Terms.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be brought before the competent courts of Poland. If you are a consumer ordinarily resident in another EU Member State, this clause does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are, however, not obliged and do not commit to participate in alternative dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration body.
16. Apple-specific terms
The following terms apply because LOCKY is distributed through the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are concluded between you and Viktar Pikulik only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for LOCKY.
- If LOCKY fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (where applicable). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to LOCKY.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to LOCKY, including product liability claims, claims that LOCKY fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer-protection legislation.
- If a third party claims that LOCKY infringes their intellectual property, we — not Apple — are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
